Screening Room and Break Room

We have both a screening room and a break room available for rental.

Screening Room

  • 18ft x 7ft Screen
  • 30 fixed theater seats
  • Additional seating can be arranged (up to 20 more seats)
  • Supported media formats: Super 35, 35mm, VHS, DVD, and 16mm
  • The 35mm projectors are set for 16 foot-lambert brightness, and are within SMPTE standards for picture quality.
  • Surround Sound system designed by Acoustic Spaces of Austin
  • The sound system has been equalized through the Dolby CP-65 to correspond with the industry standards for cinema sound reproduction.
  • Restrooms available via break room
  • Handicap accessible

The screening room has hosted dailies and/or VFX screenings for SIN CITY, THE RINGER, A SCANNER DARKLY, and many other local productions, as well as Press Screenings for New Market Films, Palm Pictures and Cross River Pictures. The screening room has also been used by independent filmmakers to show works in progress for feedback and fundraiser events. It was even used for animation voice-over recording during a recent Discovery Channel commercial shoot.

Rental Rates as follows:

DVD projection (rates include cost of projectionist, break room, and light maintenance)
General: $200 for up to 4 hours
AFS Filmmaker Members: $150 for up to 4 hours

35mm projection (rates include cost of projectionist, break room, and light maintenance)
General: $125/hour
AFS Filmmaker Members: $100/hour

Break Room

  • Approximately 800 square feet
  • Kitchenette area with fridge and sink
  • Two bathrooms
  • Large deck area connects to Screening Room
  • Handicap accessible
  • Tables and chairs available for rental

The Break Room has been used as a Rehearsal space for FAST FOOD NATION and THE RETURN, a Publicity Still Location for EVERY WORD IS TRUE, and a learning facility for Sony. The break room has also been used for production meetings, casting calls and short term production office space.

Rental Rates as follows:

General: $150 per day (up to 8 hours)
AFS Filmmaker Members: $100 per day (up to 8 hours)
